Card of the Day - Magister's Whim

Part of the cycle that also includes Patrician's Scorn.

  1. Patrician's Scorn was beautifully balanced because it inherently discourages you to chain it with itself. For instance, if you cast a white spell, then Patrician's Scorn for free, you could cast another Scorn... but since you already destroyed all enchantments, there's really no point!

    This, however, is dangerous. If you cast a blue spell, you could cast every copy of Magister's Whim in your hand, for free. You need to find an effect that's safe in multiples, much like Patrician's Scorn was. Think things like "Creatures you control gain flying until end of turn," "Exile all cards from all graveyards", or "Creatures without flying can't block this turn."
