I know nothing about design but I'm gonna give it a go at least at describing a thing. I see this card searching through your deck for the first basic land which you cast right away, then shuffling and searching for the first small creature that uses that mana color and that goes onto the battlefield under your opponent's control. Apologies if I'm unclear or if the card is dumb or if that already exists (I really am totally unknowledgeable).
I think what you mean is something along these lines:
Unopened Door 1 Artifact Rare At the beginning of your upkeep, you may search your library for a basic land card and put it onto the battlefield. If you do, target opponent may search his or her library for a creature card with mana cost 2 or less and put it onto the battlefield.
I like this card alot. Interesting dynamic in Commander and useful in any deck. Maybe use charge counters so the more you use it the scarier it gets.

I guess I should clarify why I think it would do that. To me this guy walked through an unmarked door that could take him anywhere at any given time, hence the semi-random land choice (unless you're playing a single color deck I guess).

Put 5 1/1 Goblin tokens with haste into play. At the beginning of the next end step, sacrifice them.
The cost would obviously need to be adjusted depending on the environment this exists within. (i.e. In AVR it would need to cost more.)
I love how there are so many different ideas for the same art! Here's one that was tweeted today: from @wobbles

Search your library for a permanent card and put it onto the battlefield. Exile Planar Doorway.
Why would it need to self exile?
DeleteI decided to go for functional over pithy for this one.

I do like how you used the background for your card.
