Badger. Badger. Badger. Badger. Badger. Badger. Badger. Badger. Badger. Badger.
Fog variant is useful for killing swarms of 1/1 tokens. Against fliers, you just get a small army.

Card of the Day - Creeping Psychosis
I like the idea of making a powerful aura that can backfire if your opponent can get rid of the creature it's enchanting. Remember that this is each upkeep, not just yours. In multiplayer, this can get crazy.

Card of the Day - Overwhelm
The obligatory uncommon green sorcery Overrun variant. Not as explosive, but at least the boosts stick around.

Card of the Day - Last Knight
This started as an enchantment a la Homicidal Seclusion, but it changed to a creature when the name Last Knight ran through my head. It is probably too powerful, but testing will show for sure.

Card of the Day - Purging Resurrection
Zombify variant. Not as useful in a dedicated reanimator deck, but good in Commander (and limited)!

Card of the Day - Tershan Shepherd

Card of the Day - Painbringer Demon
I wanted an uncommon demon creature that was still powerful even with a drawback. A 4/4 in black isn't too hard to fathom, but at 4 mana, it's a bit of a stretch. This guy really shines when your opponent is playing black too. I wanted him to have the 2BB cost so he would be more difficult to splash.

Card of the Day - Balefire
This one is taken from the Wheel of Time series. If you've read the books, you already know that balefire erases the thing it kills from history. The untapping of the lands is a bonus that isn't very red according to the color pie, but in this context it seems appropriate. Also, I wanted to make a super-cool, super powerful, red mythic sorcery.

Card of the Day - Bound in Chains
I had a hard time figuring out what color this card should be. Historically, "can't attack" effects are white, but the flavor seemed a lot more black to me. Let me know what you think the right color for this card is.

Card of the Day - Kalithan War Drummer
I wanted to make a sorcery that would search your deck for more goblins depending on how much mana you spent on it. The first draft of this card had multikicker, but didn't do anything if you didn't kick it. I changed it to a creature so you can get something early if you need it, but you can get a big boost if you have extra mana later.

Card of the Day - Explosive Malfunction
Narrow uncommon with a few nice benefits if you can get it to work. You get a Shatter and a Lava Spike when someone tries to use one of their toys.

Card of the Day - Unassuming Trinket
Here's an artifact that isn't quite as it seems. At worst, you can look at the top card of your library. At best, it becomes something crazy at a moment's notice. It has to cost 1 so it interacts well with Trinket Mage.

Card of the Day - Fungal Symbiote
The feeling behind this is that the fungus makes you stronger. When you die, it lives independently.

Just wondering
Hey everyone, just wondering if you prefer this style of blog, or if you preferred the style where it showed all of them at once. Let me know!

Card of the Day - Granite Quarry
This is the colorless version of the original Ravnica block Karoo lands. As you can see, it comes into play untapped and that alone makes it a bunch of awesome.

Card of the Day - Valiant Stand
My submission to Goblin Artisan's Weekend Challenge. The challenge this week was to make an Awesome card.

Card of the Day - Revealer of Secrets
This is my response to the Goblin Artisans weekend art challenge. There was no art provided this week, but the challenge was to make a card that cost one mana using the exact text of another existing card. See if you can guess what the card I used was.

Card of the Day - Adapting Ooze
I wanted the Ooze to be bigger than whatever it kills. Giving him 3 +1/+1 counters to start with is a simple way to get the effect. Should he be a 3/3 with one counter, or a 2/2 with two? Let me know what you think.

Card of the Day - Flamecharge Elephant
This guy started off as a 3/3 for 2GG that only dealt the damage to the creatures blocking him. I wanted to give him more of a Hellrider feel, so changed it to any blocking creature. I really like the way his secondary ability works with trample.

Card of the Day - Enduring Expanse
I had a rough time coming up with an alliterative name for the white land. This is the best I got. If you have a better one, let me know.
Edit: Changed the name.

Card of the Day - Malodorous Mire
Malodorous Mire was inspired by Pestilence. Sadly, that card was deemed NOT BLACK by the color pie gods, so I made it give creatures -1/-1 instead. -1/-1s are much more black.

Card of the Day - Serene Spring
The second in the cycle of five. These lands are interesting to me because if you draw them late in the game, they really shine.
Friday, June 28, 2013
Card of the Day - Collapsing Cavern
One of a cycle of uncommon lands that you can pay a bunch of mana into to do something cool and then sacrifice at the end of the turn. The whole cycle was inspired by Rocket Launcher.

Card of the Day - Phyrexian Refitting
While in play, this feels a lot like the Undying mechanic; but the flavor of Phyrexian Refitting is a bit different.

Card of the Day - Mycoid Brute
I wanted to make an updated Fungusaur that's actually powerful. I can't help but remember an awesome blue/green Fungusaur/Prodigal Sorcerer deck that I had a long time ago.

Card of the Day - Everflowing Spring
Green/white lifegain enchantment. Not the most powerful card, but if you are able to set up a good defense for a few turns, can really turn the battle in your favor.

Card of the Day - Infectious Dancing
The flavor behind this card is what appeals to me. You're casting a spell that forces an army to dance instead of fight. Can also be used on your own army to draw some cards at the end of an opponent's turn. Double useful!

Card of the Day - Gilded Chapel
The thing that makes this card work for me is the fact that you can get a mana from it the first turn it's out, or you can save it to cast something a bit bigger the next turn. A powerful cycle of common lands.

Card of the Day - Reduce//Reuse
My first split card! I originally made this as an Enchantment that did both effects, but I thought it might be cooler as one shot that could do either.
