Card of the Day - Imperfect Portal
I thought it would be fun to make a card that feels like a gamble. This card will be hated by many as it allows players to make very bad combat decisions that might pay off.

Card of the Day - Lycanthropic Necromancer
This is amazing art that really should only be on a Mythic Rare. He's obviously a necromancer werewolf, but notice the type line. I made him a Wolf to mirror the Wolfir because he doesn't transform. He's just always awesome.
I wanted him to be used to exploit "enter the battlefield" effects. I think he'll do a good job of it.

Art #2 - Tuesday
Badass wolf guy and some skeletons. Let's see what you come up with. The rules are here.
Here's the best of yesterday. Thanks to Chimzar from Bob's Cards for the submission!

Card of the Day - Peacock Knight
My design for this is from my Design from Art game. I chose to make this fellow a knight, and give him protection from something. I originally was going to let the caster choose two colors, but I thought a color and a creature type seemed more fun.

Fun with art
While digging for art for a specific card I designed, I stumbled upon a great site that has a bunch of awesome fantasy art. It's called gdpit.com. There were so many great pieces of art on this site that I started designing cards based on the art alone. After I did about twenty cards I thought it might be fun to play a design game with you, my readers.
Ok, so here's an example of some of the art I found.
It looks like some sort of fissure opened up next to a building, destroying it. Scroll down to see what I came up with.
Each day this week at midnight Central time, I'll be posting a picture. I want everyone to design a card around the picture we have, and we'll compare our designs at 6 PM.
Here's another one, just for fun.
There are some Egyptian lookin' folks fighting mummies.
Take a guess and then scroll down.
This one's silly, but you get the point. I hope that everyone reading this tries their hand at designing something!

Card of the Day - Cloak of Chaos
A fun coin flip card!
Edit: Changed it to red, doubled the amount of coin flips and changed rarity to uncommon because coin flips take a long time.

Card of the Day - Curse of Shattered Dreams
I tried to give each of the cards this week a different feel while still making them useful with Eternal cards. This one is the only one of the cards this week that punishes players for using Eternal. I like that it stays useful even if the opponent isn't using any cards with Eternal.

The Future of Eternal
I've had quite a few comments on the Eternal keyword. I believe that the best iteration of the ability is the "sacrifice x permanents" version. I've re-worked all the cards from this week to reflect the new (and hopefully permanent) version of Eternal, and I'll post them today to show you how they look.
This week's cards are all cards that don't themselves have the keyword, but play off of it.

And here's a bonus!

Card of the Day - Offhand Dismissal
Here's an entry for counterspell Friday. The high cost is needed so this doesn't get out of hand. Repeatable counterspells are bad news if costed incorrectly.

Card of the Day - Berserk Orangutan
Here's a multicolored version. I like how the ETB ability helps offset the cost of sacrificing permanents.

Card of the Day - Gravedrain
This week, I'll be posting examples of the all the ways that Eternal could work. This is a graveyard exile cost Eternal card.
