Card of the Day - Dimir Spy
This week is House Dimir. As you may know, the Dimir are very secretive. They even convinced the general populace of Ravnica that they didn't even exist. Their keyword, Espionage, reflects their secretive nature while complimenting what they are really good at: milling!
Edit: Thanks to Wobbles for coming up with a better implementation of Espionage. Here's the new and improved Dimir Spy.
I lowered his mana cost because he deals 1 less damage and mills 1 less card than before. I really like how Espionage mirrors Infect.

I'm a big fan of the "deal damage as milling cards idea"! Although if I were designing Espionage, I would borrow the concept of Infect vs. Poisonous
ReplyDeleteEspionage (Whenever ~ would deal damage to a player, that player puts twice that many cards from the top of his or her library into their graveyard instead.)
That's going to play better with equipment and auras, while still having the intended affect.
Yes! Much better execution. I didn't even think about infect when making espionage. It fits better flavorfully, as well; a spy wouldn't actually deal damage.
