Card of the Day - Narcus the Infected

This guy is awesome in multiplayer games, as his first two abilities work better against multiple opponents. Plus, he's a werewolf.  That's cool.

  1. This design is a weaker one. Here's why:

The "ultimate" ability does not synergize with either of the two other abilities. It does not even keep with the multiplayer theme. A suggestion for improving to at least keep with the theme is to enable you to cast spells from all graveyards. Though, I do understand how powerful it is to have sorceries and instants infinitely castable.

I know that it's probably not a requirement, but I would have at least liked some kind of flavor related to his werewolf-ness happen. I don't see this in any of the effects. It's tough, though. Double-faced wouldn't be innovative at all.

  2. I like his abilities, but to me one of the best things about Planeswalker design is how the abilities work together to create a complete picture. These abilities, while fun, don't work particularly well together, nor do they really feel like they were cut from the same cloth. I also don't really get the Werewolf vibe, but he could be very different than the Innistrad breeds. Maybe something more like:

    Narcus the Infected 3BB
    Planeswalker-Narcus
0: Each opponent loses 3 life. Put loyality counters on Narcus for each life lost this way.
-3: Put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control and a -1/-1 counter on each creature you don't control.
-7: Search your opponents libraries for seven cards and exile them. You may cast those cards without paying their mana cost. Shuffle those libraries.

  3. I see what you guys are saying. I should be more careful to make sure the flavor comes through as well as the cohesiveness. Thanks for the comments.
