I think this is fine, might be slightly underpowered actually, but then again it's only uncommon. Stops spot removal, doesn't stop wraths or counters or sack effects, doesn't stop fatties (titans, etc...), so could be stronger, especially for a 5 drop.
I think this would see print in a heavy removal limited environment, maybe a multicolored set. I doubt it would see play in constructed formats; little too expensive, for not quite enough pressure/hate. I think at 2/2 for 1G or 3/2 for GG (rare) it'd switch to constructed play in people's 75.
I don't think every card has to be constructed worthy. He's a good size body that helps against targeted removal. I could change his cost to 4G or even 2GG, but I like him where he is.
