Card of the Day - Harmonic Convergence

This is powerful when you can use it.  Your opponent will be playing differently when you have this card on the table.

Card of the Day - Shrouded Gorgon

This card is based on the Medusa that WIPED OUT OUR PARTY at D&D tonight.  Yeah.  That happened.

Card of the Day - Easy Target

This card has awkward rules text.  Is there an easier way to make the same effect happen?

Card of the Day - Souls of the Lost

If you don't recognize this card, it's Requiem Angel without the body.  I think it would have seen print as an Orzhov card if the Angel wasn't just printed.

Card of the Day - Blast Mining

We all know how dangerous quick mana sources can be.  This card helps alleviate the extra burst by lowering the total production in the future.  I thought it was a fitting drawback.  Would it be more balanced if you had to sac an untapped mountain?  Let me know what you think.

Card of the Day - Color Spray

If there were ever a Dungeons and Dragons set, this spell would be in it.  It's also the best level on spell EVER!  (Yes, it's better than Magic Missile.)

Card of the Day - Devouring Swarm

They will eat everything!  Just don't try attacking if they are the only creature on the battlefield.

Card of the Day - Burster Beetle

I originally created this as a 2/2 that gave -2/-2 for BG at common, but changed it to the current form right before posting.  Which do you prefer?

Card of the Day - Brazen Decree

This seems like it would be much more powerful in the first few turns of the game.  Maybe we should raise the cost a little?

Card of the Day - Gaea's Gift

I feel like this could be a broken card.  It breaks one of the fundamental rules of the game.  It needs to be tested to see how stupidly broken it really is.

Card of the Day - Mechromancer's Training

While it's not really a part of the cycle, this bonus colorless aura can make quite an impression.  I know it seems undercosted, but you do have to spend (at least) three cards to get the grandeur effect.  I think it's a great flavor for a colorless aura.

Card of the Day - Swordmaster's Training

This is an update to my card from a few days ago Shieldbearer's Training.  That version didn't quite have the panache that I wanted, so I redid it.

Card of the Day - Viromancer's Training

The black Training is really powerful.  I originally has it cost 1B, but changed it because it can easily wipe the board.  This is probably the most powerful of the cycle.

Card of the Day - Shieldbearer’s Training

The white entry is a defensive aura.  It's nice to make an opponent's creature unable to attack.  The only problem is he'll probably throw his guy in front of one of your bigger guys to get rid of the enchantment.  You can always enchant your own guy too...

Card of the Day - Electromancer's Training

A card that gives only first strike isn't that impressive, but the grandeur ability is really good.  A free Lightning Bolt is nothing to scoff at.

Card of the Day - Beastmaster's Training

As the most expensive of the cycle, Beastmaster's Training gives a hefty boost right away as well as a backbreaking grandeur ability.

2nd version as suggested by Chimzar.

Card of the Day - Aeromancer's Training

Today's card is the first in a cycle of grandeur auras.  This one gives your creature flying, but if you draw another one you get quite a big advantage.

2nd version as suggested by Chimzar.

Card of the Day - Jumped By Badgers

Badger. Badger. Badger. Badger. Badger. Badger. Badger. Badger. Badger. Badger.

Fog variant is useful for killing swarms of 1/1 tokens. Against fliers, you just get a small army.

Card of the Day - Creeping Psychosis

I like the idea of making a powerful aura that can backfire if your opponent can get rid of the creature it's enchanting.  Remember that this is each upkeep, not just yours.  In multiplayer, this can get crazy.

Card of the Day - Overwhelm

The obligatory uncommon green sorcery Overrun variant.  Not as explosive, but at least the boosts stick around.

Card of the Day - Last Knight

This started as an enchantment a la Homicidal Seclusion, but it changed to a creature when the name Last Knight ran through my head.  It is probably too powerful, but testing will show for sure.

Card of the Day - Tershan Shepherd

This is a cross between Seeker of Skybreak and any of the numerous white tapping creatures.  Some could argue with this card being White/Blue, but I like having the flavor of a sheep herder for this ability.

Card of the Day - Painbringer Demon

I wanted an uncommon demon creature that was still powerful even with a drawback.  A 4/4 in black isn't too hard to fathom, but at 4 mana, it's a bit of a stretch.  This guy really shines when your opponent is playing black too.  I wanted him to have the 2BB cost so he would be more difficult to splash.

Card of the Day - Balefire

This one is taken from the Wheel of Time series.  If you've read the books, you already know that balefire erases the thing it kills from history.  The untapping of the lands is a bonus that isn't very red according to the color pie, but in this context it seems appropriate. Also, I wanted to make a super-cool, super powerful, red mythic sorcery.

Card of the Day - Relaxing Hydromancer

I originally had this guy tap to counter a red instant or sorcery, but that seemed a bit harsh for a hoser.  I changed him to the Chill guy soon afterward.  The name is an homage to that card.

Card of the Day - Bound in Chains

I had a hard time figuring out what color this card should be.  Historically, "can't attack" effects are white, but the flavor seemed a lot more black to me.  Let me know what you think the right color for this card is.

Card of the Day - Kalithan War Drummer

I wanted to make a sorcery that would search your deck for more goblins depending on how much mana you spent on it.  The first draft of this card had multikicker, but didn't do anything if you didn't kick it.  I changed it to a creature so you can get something early if you need it, but you can get a big boost if you have extra mana later.

Card of the Day - Explosive Malfunction

Narrow uncommon with a few nice benefits if you can get it to work.  You get a Shatter and a Lava Spike when someone tries to use one of their toys.

Card of the Day - Unassuming Trinket

Here's an artifact that isn't quite as it seems.  At worst, you can look at the top card of your library.  At best, it becomes something crazy at a moment's notice.  It has to cost 1 so it interacts well with Trinket Mage.

Card of the Day - Fungal Symbiote

The feeling behind this is that the fungus makes you stronger.  When you die, it lives independently.

Just wondering

Hey everyone, just wondering if you prefer this style of blog, or if you preferred the style where it showed all of them at once.  Let me know!
